Depilation - Waxing and Laser Hair Removal and Reduction - In Grown Hairs
From the National Laser Institute's (http://www.nationallaserinstitute.com/about.html) recent newsletter.
Pseudofolliculitis barbae
Also known as PFB, Pseudofolliculitis barbae refers to chronically irritated skin caused by shaving. More common in African American men or anyone with naturally curly hair, PFB can be found anywhere on the body where shaving or plucking has occurred. It can be quite uncomfortable, especially where hairs become ingrown. Ingrown hairs should be gently removed with tweezers; if they are particularly deep or have never exited the follicle, a dermatologist should perform the procedure. PFB typically responds well to exfoliation and for prevention, laser hair removal.
